A "healthy" alternative choice to the classic Twinkie.
Corn Syrup, Wheat Flour Bleached Enriched (Flour, Iron Reduced, Vitamin B [Niacin, Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin B1) {Vitamin B1}, Folic Acid (Vitamin aB), Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) {Vitamin B2}]), Corn Syrup High Fructose, Vegetable(s) Shortening Partially Hydrogenated Contains One Or More Of The Following (Soybean(s) Or Cottonseed Oil) Sugar, Water, Calcium and Glucose, Leavening (Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Baking Soda, Monocalcium Phosphate), Salt, Soy Protein Isolate, Whey Sweet Dairy, Egg(s) Whole, Contains 22% or less Corn Starch Modified, Cellulose Gum, Corn Flour, Dextrose, Egg(s), Milk and Red 40, Sodium Caseinate, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Sorbic Acid To Retain Freshness, Contains Soy Lecithin, Wheat, Yellow 5, Flavor(s) Natural & Artificial (Caramel Color, Egg(s) Yolks, Butter, Sodium Caseinate), Mono and Diglycerides, Corn Starch, Corn Dextrins, Soybean(s)
When did food become so complicated? Did you know that Cellulose Gum is used in detergents and water-based paint? Don't get me wrong, I'm not walking around with a stick up my ass 24/7. I love junk food. However, I eat it in moderation. I just get a little peeved when I hear that something so obviously horrible is considered a "healthy alternative." If you want a damn Twinkie, then go out and get a damn Twinkie, its basic math, just find a way to subtract 150 calories out of your dinner that evening."Where are you, you yellow, spongy, delicious, bastard??"
Woody Harrelson, as Tallahassee, appreciated a good Twinkie in the movie "Zombieland."
Now that you, my readers, are aware of my ADD, I will get to the point at hand. This post is not about Twinkies. This post was created to discuss Weight Watchers. When I first saw the new Weight Watchers commercial(s) with Jennifer Hudson, I was annoyed, but also a little disturbed. When did losing weight become the equivalent of beating cancer, or graduating from college, or discovering the cure for aids? As I previously stated, when did things become so complicated?!?
Lets compare some video footage, shall we?
Is it just me, or is this commercial more dramatic, somber, and (therefore) more marketable then the following breast cancer research commercial?
Am I the only person who sees an issue with this?
I get it, people struggle to lose weight, and America has a HUGE obesity problem. And said problems with obesity can lead to Heart Disease and untimely death. In fact, chew on this:
Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, followed by Cancer, Stroke and Chronic Lower Respiratory Disease. -Fast Stats
Two large studies from Northwestern Medicine confirm a healthy lifestyle has the biggest impact on cardiovascular health. One study shows the majority of people who adopted healthy lifestyle behaviors in young adulthood maintained a low cardiovascular risk profile in middle age. The five most important healthy behaviors are not smoking, low or no alcohol intake, weight control, physical activity and a healthy diet. The other study shows cardiovascular health is due primarily to lifestyle factors and healthy behavior, not heredity. -North Western Edu
So, this means you should get off your ass and stop filling your body with sh*t. It is really not that complicated. The more complicated weight loss "gimmicks" make losing weight the harder you think it is. That is their ultimate evil plan. They want you to think that you need them and can't lose weight without them. Weight loss requires basic math, calories in versus calories out. Weight loss gimmicks are, in the end, a insult to your intelligence. Please view Twinkie diet helps nutrition professor lose 20 pounds (not that he or I recommend this approach, but it proves my point)
In conclusion, I think America has gone way overboard with the "weight loss extravaganza." Most of the time weight loss "gimmicks" are directed towards being "skinnier," and "feeling good about yourself." What about your health? And what about the diseases that we cannot cure? Has pop culture really taken over to the point that losing weight to look good is more important then curing disease? Where is my award for losing 15 pounds, I didn't get sh*t!
For the record, I think Jennifer Hudson still has a huge fat donkey @ss!

Maybe now that Jennifer Hudson has stopped overeating, Weight Watchers can help her to stop oversinging. Now, THAT would be really fantastic!
If they just closed her mouth I would be happy...
Zombieland! AWESOME!
