Unless you have been in hiding for the last week, you know that Russell Brand has filed for divorce from Katy Perry. Yes, I said Katy Perry, who is considered by most to be America's Sweetheart and probably the most desired woman in the world right now. She is a international superstar! This is almost as appalling as Scarlett Johansson's split with Ryan Reynolds.
The biggest trade-down of all time...
Russell cited "irreconcilable differences" in the divorce papers. This corresponds to the word on the street that Katy and Russell supposedly fought often. They had not been dating for very long before they married and had not spent lengthy periods of time with each other. In a nutshell, they really did not know each other very well. Fail..The upside of this divorce? I now look forward to Katy Perry's next album! These bullsh*t songs about "fireworks" have really been pissing me off. I'm not going to lie, I love Katy Perry, but sometimes she makes me want to shoot myself in the face. Furthermore, for the record, "Last Friday Night" is both a horrible song and even worse video! She has released a few songs that I have enjoyed recently, but I prefer a jaded Katy Perry over a happy one. I am sure her next album will be full of sad and interesting songs. Maybe she will even stop her attempt at pleasing the parents of middle schoolers.
This is the Katy Perry I want back!
This brings me to my next point. Being a celebrity is often social suicide. Very few celebrity marriages make it even as far as three to five years. Yea, they have people who admire them and enough money to feed a small county, but honestly, who really gives a flying f%ck about them? They have very few real friends who truly care about them. It's not like they are in one place long enough to develop relationships with people. And everyone knows how well long-distance relationships work (they don't). It is no surprise that celebrities are constantly battling drug abuse, addictions, eating disorders, and depression. Unfortunately, many of the "greatest" celebrities find themselves not only involved with social suicide, but with actual suicide. These people must really love what they do to sacrifice a large chunk of what is considered a normal, healthy life.

I'm pumped for Katy's next album, too! I liked her better before she was all about bubblegum pop.
