Emmy Rossum = Freakin' Awesome!

It's really not a secret that in Hollywood, looks often win out over talent ... despite Jessica Biel's claims that she's "too beautiful" to get good roles (Let's all say it together, "Oh, shut the eff up already!"). This is particularly true with actresses in their 20s. How else would one explain why Jessica Alba, Megan Fox and Scarlett Johansson, among a SLEW of others, are able to stay consistently employed? It's certainly not because they're creating magic on-screen with their grasp of the arts, I can tell you that.

So, with that in mind, we have to wonder why all these no-talent Barbie dolls are consistently snagging roles when we have beautiful women who actually possess talent out there. Yes, we have Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis and Rachel Squared (Weisz and McAdams), but they can't cover all the roles. So, how about another? Ladies and gentlemen, for your consideration ... Miss Emmy Rossum.

It would be helpful if people would stop Photoshopping Emmy's head onto my body. So annoying ...

Even if she's not one's particular cup of tea, a reasonable person can't deny that this woman is gorgeous. She has been absolutely killing it on the red carpet for years ... without the help of her fashion designer relative, Vera Wang, I might add. She has also proven she can still look great when she's all white-trashed out in Showtime's phenomenal new series, Shameless. In fact, my Google searches have shown me that many people compare her beauty to that of a certain Disney Princess:

"I want so much more than they've got planned ..."  - Belle ... but it very easily could be Emmy

But, unlike the Jessicas of the world (Alba, Biel and Simpson), Emmy is not merely a show pony ... she knows tricks, too! In addition to her mad acting skills, she can also sing ... well ... VERY well ... AMAZINGLY well. At the age of 7, Rossum began performing as an opera singer. She has appeared in more than 20 operas and sung in five different languages. No doubt, this experience prepared her well for her role as Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera, starring opposite confirmed sexypants Gerard Butler. Just have a look/listen at this greatness:

Question: Is it still considered "stalking"  when the guy is this handsome?

And, speaking of Phantom, for her performance in said film, Emmy scooped up a Saturn Award, a Critics Choice Award, a Young Artist Award and a Golden Globe Nomination. You know how you rolled your eyes earlier when I said that she had mad acting skills? Well, suck on that!

Yes, I know I already posted "Phantom" media. Any excuse to put up this picture of Gerard.
Mama like! Oh, yeah ... Emmy is in the picture, too.

But, after the Phantom/Day After Tommorrow hoopla died down, so did her career ... which is a damn shame. In spite of her extremely questionable taste in men, I'm really rooting for Emmy and want her to do well. It's not fair that dumb chicks who bank it all on their looks get more work than she does, and it's REALLY not fair that dumb chicks who just happen to fall into the Twilight franchise are eclipsing Emmy in popularity. (You see what I did there? With the Twilight/Eclipse thing? Bahahahaha ... I'm funny.)

Bottom line, this chick should be WAY more famous than she is. If Kristen Stewart is allowed to be famous, then Emmy Rossum should be crazy, over-the-top, Brangelina-level famous. Come on, people. Let's support actresses who have talents that extend beyond biting their lip, staring at the floor and suddenly bailing out in the middle of declarative sentences.

Um, yeah ... What the F%CK, America? You really prefer Option B? Good hell ...

I LOVE her in Phantom! I actually love that movie no matter what its critics say.
Now, back to Emmy. She is gorgeous and talented! She also appears to wear underwear and keep her hands off others' property. What's not to to love about her?
