WOW! Evil Dead Remake: April 12, 2013!

Anybody who knows me knows that Evil Dead, is one of my favorite movies. Because of this, I spent many drunken nights in college playing the Bruce Campbell Game with my friends. What is the Bruce Campbell Game? The game is easy: Every time Bruce Campbell gets hurt on screen, you drink. Playing this while watching Army of Darkness, ensures that you will be drunk in 15-20 minutes. I highly suggest using beer instead of liquor for your own safety (Do not try this at home).

The Evil Dead

Because of my love for all of the Evil Dead movies, I was both happy and confused when I found out that there will be, in fact, a Evil Dead remake that will be released April 12, 2013. Bruce Campbell confirmed that there will be no "Ash" character in the new Evil Dead! However, he will be joining the director of the original film, Sam Raimi, Fede Alvarez, and Robert Tapert to produce the remake. As far as a cameo is concerned, Bruce says "maybe." And I will personally take that "maybe" as a "YES" and expect to see a cameo!

"We are going to remake it. The original. And people are a little iffy about that. You know, we wanted to remake a movie that would have better effects [and] we're better at telling stories now. We found a young filmmaker — Fede Alvarez, who's from Uruguay — who's gonna direct the thing. There's no "Ash" character in it and that pisses people off, because it's like, "How can you have Evil Dead without Ash?" We didn't want to have the direct comparison. If you put Ash and all of those characters in it, then they go, "Aw, that guy was okay." I wouldn't want to put an actor in that position."- Bruce Campbell

But Bruuuuccee ... we don't want another actor to play Ash, we obviously want YOU to play Ash! Come on! Furthermore, the reason I love Evil Dead, is because of the horrible/hilarious special effects! I can only hope that the "better effects," are ridiculous and over-the-top. Of course, with every remake you will always have some very strong opinions.

"Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! You see this? This... is my boomstick! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?"

While researching these strong opinions from fans, I found the following comment on CinemaBlend.com
James Heather Williams Stated:

"F*CKIN BULLSH*T WHY CANT U LEAVE SH*T ALONE U PIECES OF F*CKIN SH*T, I HOPE THAT U GET A$S CANCER AND DIE!!EVERY REMAKE HAS BEEN SH*T ON MY D*CK"

Laughing my @ss off! People need to calm down. Who would give their son the middle name Heather anyways? What made Evil Dead a cult classic was that it was different from all the other horror movies during that time (maybe during any time). However, doing a remake decades later and adding special effects and ideas from other horror movies has turned off a lot of fans!

"What? Were you raised in a barn? Shut the door! Probably was raised in a barn, along with the other primitives."

Personally, and surprisingly, I do not mind that they are remaking Evil Dead. I love Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness (Although, I prefer the slapstick comedy of Army of Darkness). I am sick of hearing people talk about how the remake will "ruin the originals!"  The only way to "ruin the originals" is to build a time machine, go into the past, and screw up the previous films before they were released. Now, that definitely will make a few people "butt hurt."

Come on people! If the new Evil Dead sucks, then shame on them. If it is awesome, then who can complain? We will always have the originals! In the end, I think fans should look foreword to the release, I know I am! Opinions please..

Well, I it could turn out to be pretty good. I was fully prepared for the new Footloose to suck, and I actually really liked it.
Raimi's last horror movie was awesome. If he's on board for the remake, it should be decent.
